The Firewise Communities program offers a series of practical steps that individuals and communities can take to protect themselves and their property from risk of wildfire. The Firewise vision is that, through homeowner preparedness and community planning, wildfires can occur without catastrophic loss of lives, property, and natural resources.

Eureka Firewise Community Event - May 4, 2012 - 11:00 am to 1:00 pm - Eureka Fire Station

Stop by Eureka's 3rd Annual Firewise/Fire Safe Day to learn about fire resistant plants and landscaping materials, fire resistant building materials and our community evacuation plan.

Enjoy a BBQ lunch, visit Smokey Bear, enter the free raffle drawing, take home fire resistant plants grown by Eureka's FFA students, tour emergency vehicles while visiting with local volunteer fire men and women and BLM crews.

Crescent Valley Firewise Community Event - May 5, 2012 - 11:00 am to 1:00 pm - Crescent Valley Fire Station
